Shaped by her totem, Bukal Bukal (the Black lawyer vine), this documentary weaves the extraordinary life of Yidinji woman and activist Henrietta Marrie AM with her Country. Her work has transformed Indigenous rights and reshaped the way governments, corporations and international institutions engage with Indigenous people, land and culture. In Bukal Bukal, she takes on the British Museum, fighting to reclaim her family’s stolen artefacts and seeking justice for Indigenous cultural heritage. Directed by acclaimed Bundjalung artist/director, Rhoda Roberts AO and Pauline Clague director of The Colleano Heart (AFF 2025).
Screening as part of (Port) Adelaide Film Festival campfire yarns at Yitpi Yartapuultiku.
